Water Treatment Plant Filter Rehabilitation Project

The Sheboygan Water Utility is rehabilitating Filters No. 7, 8, and 9 at the Water Treatment Plant. Improvements include:

  • Replacement of the filter underdrain system with a stainless-steel underdrain.
  • Tri-Lateral Underdrain
  • Installation of new Surface Sweeps.
  • Replacement of the filter media.
  • Rehabilitation of the roofing above the associated filter gallery.

These improvements will help maintain the reliability and performance of the treatment process, extend the service life of the filters, and help ensure the continued production of safe, high-quality drinking water for the Sheboygan community.

This project is being financed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program (SDWLP) and Wisconsin's State Revolving Fund (SRF) program.

Construction is anticipated to begin in Fall 2026.
